Jack's First Christmas

It is hard to believe that this time last year Jack was just a little speck inside my tummy! (but he was sure making me sick!) It was great having Jack here everything felt magical again. It was nice to be with family and share Jack with his aunts, uncles and many cousins. We do not get down here very often, Jack hasn't been since he was 6 weeks old, so it has been a mini vacation for us! We took lots of pictures....we hope you enjoy!
This is my favorite Christmas morning picture! He is definately the most precious present ever!

Santa brought Jack a little ride car! We named it Herbie!

4 Month Well Baby Visit

So first off, I posted the wrong video in the post below....I will fix it soon, sorry! Yesterday Jack finally had his 4 month checkup...(he had a fever on his original app. date so the couldn't give him his shots) Everything went fantastic yesterday! He has passed all of his developmental milestones, he weighs 16lbs 12oz and is 24 3/4 inches long! They gave him his shots (i had to leave the room) he only cried a little compared to his 2 month shots! They have also referred him to an Ear Nose and Throat doctor for the chronic congestion. We are pretty sure he has extra tissue where his adnoids are( he gets this from me) which is causing the congestion. So hopefully we can get him some relief soon. He has 2 little teeth that are starting to come up! We also talked about the cereal thing (my old pediatrician is the one who said to start cereal 4 months) she said that he doesn't need the extra calories until 6 months (he is the 90% for weight) since he is getting a little bit of formula here and there she said that is all the iron he needs. When she put him on his tummy to see if he could push up, etc... he pulled his knees up under him and she said that he is definately ready to go places...and to make sure we give him lots of tummy time so he can figure out how to make it all work together! She added that she is pretty sure that he will be crawling by the next time she sees him! So anywho, everything is going great...he is growing like a weed!! He keeps us smiling and laughing...he is so precious and we cherish every moment...

Eating Cereal

Jack is now 4 months old and the pediatrician said that it was time to start giving him a little cereal. Babies do not get all of the iron they need from breastmilk alone, and by the time they are 4 months old they have used up the supply they stored while in the womb, that is why we needed to start the cereal, so he could get the much needed iron that his growing body required. All the technical stuff aside...he really likes it, and it was hilarious to watch him! This was the first taste of cereal that he has had...we refrained from putting it in his bottle, we didn't want him to have the extra, un-needed calories or experience the fear of him choking....hope you enjoy the video!

Of course this is not cereal...but I had to post these....to me he is still way to little to be doing this himself... :(

jumparoo

We went to BBRU on Friday night after buying a new car...and they had the jump and go toy that attaches to a door frame on sale, so despite the negative things I have heard about them we got one! Jack LOVES it! He sat in it for over 30min the first time!!

Looking A lot like Christmas!

This past weekend, before Jack got sick we pulled out all of the Christmas decorations, and put up our tree. It was even more special this year having Jack be a part of it! Jojie was also here to help...we had a great time and a lot of laughs! We found some reindeer antlers when we were unpacking our decorations and we couldn't resist putting them on Jack!

Jack playing and talking!

Thanksgiving!

Mom (Jojie), Aunt Rae and Uncle Raf all came to our house for Thanksgiving this year. It was by far the best Thanksgiving ever....it will be one to be remembered for a long time to come. We all laughed so hard that day our cheeks hurt! It was even more special having Jack with us...it is wonderful how having a child brings back all of the magic of the holidays. He had a great day and was a tired boy by that night....

Hope you enjoy the pictures....

GreatGrandMary--Great Aunt Carol and Uncle David

On Saturday we went to Salisbury to visit with Dustin's Aunt Carol, Uncle David and GrandMary. We had the most wonderful visit! Jack met his Great Uncle David for the first time and was able to spend time with his Great Aunt Carol and GreatGrandMary for the second time. We Love them so much, they mean a lot to us and have always been there to offer support and advice. Here are a few pictures from our visit...they are priceless. (I cannot take credit for these photos we forgot our memory stick so thanks to Aunt Carol for sharing!)

Last night was the annual Downtown Light Up ceremony, where the mayor turns on all of the Christmas lights. They have live music, dancing, vendors, hayrides, Santa is there and of course awesome food. We took Jack and we had an awesome time!

When we got back it was time for Jack's bath...we gave him his second Mohawk, Dr.McIlveen gave him his first as he was being born (Dustin LOVES that story!)...hehe!!!

Books!

Jack LOVES to be read to! He will sit for 20 minutes or more some evenings and let us read book after book. He "talks" to the pictures and gets really excited when we get silly while reading. I was able to capture these pictures of Jack's story time with Daddy...I LOVE THESE PICTURES!!

Growing...growing...growing

Jack is such a determined little guy...he loves to stand, and is surprisingly very sturdy. He can stand on his feet while just holding onto my fingers. He is also very good with his hands now, he can focus on something, reach for it, pick it up and bring it to his mouth with ease! If he drops it, he can reach right back down and get it! I hope you enjoy the new pictures! I even managed to get one of him rolling over!

Rolling over!
