Jack loves bathtime!! We give him a bath every evening before bed an we think he actually looks forward to it! He likes to kick his feet in the water and soaks us. He often smiles, coos and giggles while I wash him. He is precious and growing so fast!

Update

Our little Jack Nolan has finally settled into a routine. It has felt like a long time coming, but to make a long story short, we found out that he just needed more to eat than my body could keep up with in order to be satisfied. He gets 2 bottles of formula a day, one before bed and one when he wakes in the night, and the rest of the time I breastfeed him. I cannot begin to tell you the difference this has made. At first I felt a little bit like a failure that I could not provide all that he needed, but now that I see how much happier and content he is and that is all that matters. For a week now he has been going to bed at 9:00 and not waking up into 5:00am, taking a bottle and then going back down until about 8:00am. I feed him then and he is awake and alert for a couple of hours, he has tummy time for a few minutes and then he gets tired of it and rolls over onto his back (he can hold his head up great!), when he is on his back he kicks like crazy! He is also now focusing on things with ease and loves to watch his mommy and daddy! He giggled for the first time a couple of days ago and it was the sweetest thing I have ever heard! He smiles and coos and is just the love of our lives! He is also napping during the day, several 1.5-2 hour naps every day, bless his little heart I think he must be catching up from the lack of sleep he had the first few weeks of his life out of the womb (me and dustin are catching up too!).

I have never known such joy...or love...being a mommy is amazing! Even when we were getting zero sleep (no exaggeration)!

Jack is now 1 month old! My how time flies....it seems like yesterday we were just leaving the hospital. Jack is growing so fast, he now weighs 10lbs 4oz!! He is smiling a lot and has started cooing. He is so precious. Sleep continues to be an issue...just doesn't seem need very much. Our pediatrician told us to give him a bottle of formula right before bed instead of nursing him so that he would sleep a little longer(but to make sure I pump!). He said that even though Jack doesn't think he needs to sleep that actually he needs a lot more. We have been doing the formula and it seems to be working. He is sleeping for 5.5 hours in a row at night now, which is a huge improvement and he has even been taking 2 naps during the day sometimes for not very long, but we are getting there. Not having family is still the hardest thing ever, and sometimes I feel so far away but we are working on getting closer to home and we will see what happens!

I hope you enjoy the pictures!!

Last night Jack slept from 8:30pm to 2:00am...5.5 straight hours! I freaked out a little when I saw what time it was, but was so thankful for the uninterupted rest! He ate and then was back asleep by 3:30, and didn't wake up again until 6...I just patted his little bottom and he went back to sleep until 7:15! So needless to say we feel like different people this morning.

He loves spending time outside with his daddy, and cuddling with daddy on the couch! I feed him and then pass him off to Dustin and Jack falls right to sleep in his arms. If I try to put him to sleep Jack gets angry he thinks mommy=food all the time!
He is smiling so much now, especially when we make funny faces or tickle him, and he cooed yesterday for the first time!
It is hard to believe that on Friday he will be a month old...my how time flies.
JoJie is coming on Friday to spend the weekend with us, and we are impatiently waiting to see her. It has been 2 weeks since we have seen her but it feels like an eternity...hurry up Friday!!
